Ancare Australia specialises in the marketing of parasite control products for livestock. Facing strong competition from major international pharmaceutical companies, Ancare has established itself as an innovative competitor in the Australian production animal health market.
Ancare was the first on the market in Australia with a double strength Ivermectin cattle pour-on (Genesis Pour-On) in 2000 and first on the market with a pour-on cattle flukicide in 2004. (Genesis Ultra Pour-On) Further innovation in the sheep drench market came from Ancare late in 2004 with the launch of Genesis Xtra, a combination drench that provides 6 weeks sustained activity against Barbers Pole Worm in sheep. Then in November 2006 Ancare released Hat-Trick, the first Abamectin, Oxfendazole, Levamisole, Selenium and Cobalt triple combination sheep drench to the Australian market to help combat the serious threat of parasite resistance.
In Australia, Ancare distributes its products through the Ruralco nationwide stores CRT, Town and Country, Roberts Ltd & Rodwells.
In October 2007, Ancare was acquired by Merial, a global animal health company well known for it's introduction of new compounds to the market over a number of years. This association adds strength to Ancare by increasing the resources available in bringing innovative solutions to the large animal health market in Australia and other countries.
Ancare continues to operate independantly of Merial in the Australian large animal health market with the full Ancare range remaining exclusively available from the Ruralco network of stores.

Ancare Australia's products are manufactured from materials supplied by major international producers. Manufacturing is undertaken in Australia with processes designed to ISO 9002 standards and to standards set by local regulatory authorities.
